Bio

Carl Lange is a Master’s student in Data Science and AI at Chalmers University of Technology. His master thesis explores controllable humor generation in large language models, focusing on single-word edits in news headlines to induce humor. He investigates how reinforcement learning can be combined with information-theoretic objectives to better understand and improve how language models generate humorous language. In his Bachelor’s thesis, Carl applied deep reinforcement learning to autonomous control simulations, training agents for decision-making in dynamic environments.
